Algarve Wednesday Walkers 2006-7
A new Blog for a new walking season. This Blog provides a resumé of the activities of those resourceful, daring and eco-friendly athletes who venture into the wilds of the Algarve, without maps, compasses, rulers nor protractors, and with just walking sticks and a motley selection of dogs for company - known as The Algarve Wednesday Walkers

Sir,
A chance perusal of your pamphlet 29.11.06, curiously called "Blog",unwittingly exposed me to the shocking depiction of the Snake Shoes.De rigeur footwear apres-walk is, of course, the traditional laced brogue although, in extremis a sub-fusc moccasin or "slip-on" would pass. Talking of slipping, standards certainly are when there appears such an irridescent technicolour confection such as Snake Shoes, which hearsay leads one to believe more suited to a Genoese bordello than to an AWW post-prelambutory soiree. Your Sartorial Sub-Committee should stamp on this quam celerrime.
Yours, T. Dekker, Secrstary OCCOSO
P.S. Pray, Sir, do not underestimate the influence on Publick Opinion of Old Cobblers:there's Loads of it about.
The Hon Sec OCCOSO has inevitably missed the full import of the Ceremonial Donning of the Snake Shoes. These shoes are renowned for their curative properties (and not just their chic understated elegance), and are traditionally worn in Thailand during after dusk marathon excursions in certain areas of the Capital. Indeed these very shoes prevented their user from any feelings of fatigue and risk of contracting any sporting injuries during an eight hour sojourn in Soi Cowboy in 1989. On this occasion, I was so invigorated by their magical properties that I walked past my car and was about to start on a further lap of the Bravura, until Myriam rudely brought me back to reality!
