A further lengthy stop was necessary during the return over the top of Foia for a recce patrol to suss out a bye-way. During this, Aquarius of Odiaxiere ingeniously attempted to interest Lindsey and Jim in a beginner’s course in water divining. Sure enough, the wires started twitching in the maestro’s hands, and also in the hands of his acolytes, but only in the direction of the Consultant’s knapsack, wherein lay the fabled but-never-seen flask of usquebaugh. Sadly no dram was forthcoming.
